"Jumping The Shark" Art Show

 We are pleased to present, "Jumping The Shark", an exhibition of new works by Juan Tocayo.
An illustrator and graphic designer from Costa Mesa, Ca.
Inspired by his childhood collection of comic books, cartoons and pop culture elements.
Tocayo states "I wanted to see things that didn't exist come to life in a different way".

"Good Sport" Art Show

As Issued is proud to present "Good Sport" showcasing Sergio Hernandez's story telling abilities.

Sergio's painting are a reflection of the stories he was told as a child or that he has experienced himself.

A graffiti artist, painter and tattoo artist, Sergio is a native of San Diego, but he recalls childhood life

in La Mesa, and weekend trips to Tijuana to visit extended family and draw inspiration.

Curated by Zach Johnsen, "Tragic Heroes" will showcase illustrative work by emerging artists whose work

encapsulates the idea of the tragic hero.
Both in the subject matter and style, this show will explore how the concept of the tragic hero
is depicted off stage and in art today.
From the suicidal to the self-deprecating, the hero of this show is the tragically ugly,
the miscalculated and ultimately, the loser with the best intentions.
Join us in this Saturday April 6th in celebrating the culture of the under rated.

Art Walk

If you guys didn't know, The Lab now hosts an Artwalk. 

This event happens the last Tuesday of every month, make sure you 

come check it out, there will be live music, live art performances, artisan vendors,

and multiple businesses participating during the Artwalk.

 Every Artwalk we will have a special event involving live art. 

This week we will have the talented Emily Hoy performing live collaging and discussing her process and passion with paper.

"Surf to Skate" Book Signing & 60's Skateboard Show

We are happy to be hosting the book release and exhibition of "Surf to Skate- Evolution to Revolution" this Friday Nov, 16th from 6 to 9 PM. A due of vintage skateboard collectors, Stanton Hartsfield and Jason Cohn will feature over 75 rare skateboards from their private collections from the 1950's to 1960's, which will be on display till Sunday, November 18th only. 

The Limited edition self-published 152 page coffee table book, was fully printed and produced in the USA and designed to resemble a skateboard from the 1950's. We hope to see you there.
